Department Store is a sketch that appears in "Michael Ellis," the forty-first episode of Monty Python's Flying Circus.

Synopsis[]

Outside a busy department store, a doorman (Michael Palin) opens the car door for a prim woman (Terry Jones), who knees him in the crotch as a thank-you. Chris Quinn (Eric Idle) rides up to the entrance on a bicycle, and the doorman throws it on the road. The scene cuts to show several customers leaving with bandaged noses, followed by a woman who walks into the glass door, breaking her nose.

Quinn enters a floor where a customer (Carol Cleveland) is attended to by an assistant (Terry Gilliam) before she accidentally sets another customer on fire with a flamethrower.
