Jack in a Box is the final segment of the episode "The Cycling Tour."

Synopsis[]

At a Soviet variety show, the compere (Eric Idle) tells a joke in Russian and introduces Eartha Kitt. Gulliver (Terry Jones) walks onstage in a glamorous outfit but starts miming to an Edward Heath speech. The audience get restless and heckle him to sing 'Old Fashioned Girl'. Miraculously, a turnip hits Gulliver on the head and he breaks out of his personality disorder, running off stage to search for Mr. Pither (Michael Palin). He hears him calling from the other side of a wall, and climbs it to join him. At first he is relieved they are reunited but Mr Pither points out the firing squad ready to charge at him with bayonets. A screen saying 'SCENE MISSING' flashes on-screen.

Somehow, they have survived and are back in Britain. They part ways and Mr Pither cycles off.

Post credits, animated creatures Kevin and Maurice dance to 'Jack in a Box'.
