Ed O'Neill (b. 1946) is an American actor best known for his roles as Al Bundy on Married... with Children and Jay Pritchett on Modern Family.
He, along with fellow Modern Family cast members, were honored with a 2010 Peabody Award, where Sesame Workshop was also honored for sesamestreet.org. Elmo worked the red carpet with the cast members of Modern Family and Glee, where O'Neill presented the red monster with a kiss on the cheek.
O'Neill's other credits include Sgt. Joe Friday in the remake of Dragnet and Gov. Eric Baker on The West Wing.
