Picture Segment Description

SCENE 1 Susan needs her broken picture frame repaired and heads toward the library to find a book regarding frame repairs. She discovers the library has now been converted into the "L and R Fix-It Shop," manned by Luis and Rafael. Susan realizes she no longer needs a book - the new business can take care of her broken frame. The two provide Susan with a free flashlight, a gift to all new customers on their grand opening day.

Cartoon A sprightly seal tells the story of six silly sailors who split up on a see-saw.

SCENE 2 Big Bird comes by to check out the new shop, when Tom drops off a potted plant as a gift from himself and Mr. Hooper. Big Bird feels bad that he doesn't have a gift to give, but Luis gives him a free flashlight anyhow. Big Bird gets an idea and asks for another, but it's only one per customer.

SCENE 2 cont'd Big Bird darts off and returns posing as a farmer from the country. He becomes offended when Luis recognizes him as Big Bird, claiming he's one of a kind and doesn't want to look like this supposed, local bird. Luis relents and gives him another flashlight.

Cartoon S is for snow, Santa, and sleigh.

SCENE 3 Big Bird claims more flashlights, dressing up as an old man, then an elephant.

Muppets Grover: Front and Back — Whenever Grover wants to talk about front or back, the camera suddenly cuts to a shot of his other side.

SCENE 4 One flashlight remains in the jar now. Rafael chews out Luis for giving them all away to just one customer, when Big Bird comes back once again dressed as an elderly woman (namely his grandmother). Rafael puts his foot down, but he too crumbles when he sees how sad Big Bird gets (as well as being reminded of his own grandmother). He gives him the last flashlight.

SCENE 4 cont'd Big Bird returns momentarily later, no disguises. He gives them his present - a box full of flashlights.

SCENE 6 Oscar sets himself by the Fix-It Shop to draw a picture of a nearby can. Rafael needs some pliers to fix a radio, but Luis is using their only set. Oscar has a set of pliers, but being a Grouch, he won't give them to Rafael. Oscar then asks for some paper to draw with, but Rafael thinks they should cooperate and share the items they need. Oscar rants about this, but only to save face while the kids are around and don't see him cooperating.
