SCENE 2 David serves lunch to Maria and Bob, who have both ordered the same thing - a sandwich with milk and a pickle. However, Maria points out that her pickle is missing and David finds the pickle jar is empty. The Amazing Mumford appears to fix the problem with magic. Although their foods are now the same, Maria now has a cup of coffee instead of milk. Mumford tries again, now replacing Bob's sandwich with a rabbit. With one more wave of his wand, Mumford finally gives them both the same meal - an eggplant and an ice cream soda. "My friends, that's why I'm a magician and not a waiter," he sighs.
