SCENE 3 The game of chess continues, when a shoe flies from above and lands right on the board, ruining everything. The seagull retrieves it and brings it back to Oscar. He reveals to the others that he's begun to call the gull Stinky and is playing fetch with her. They try to reach a compromise, which Oscar considers cooperation, but relents anyway. Oscar throws the shoe in a different direction, then Stinky retrieves it and drops it on the chess game on her own volition. Oscar: "This is definitely the beginning of a beautiful Grouch friendship!"
