Description
SCENE 1Gordon and Linda are out stretching in the yard preparing for a run. Nearby they see Bruno stretching as well with Oscar in tow, who explains that Bruno is going for a run since Oscar's mom will be visiting. Gordon and Linda don't understand how the two coincide until Bruno starts to run, messing up the interior of Oscar's trash can.

SCENE 2
Gordon waits with Oscar to meet his mother. Oscar tries to get him to scram, but Gordon really wants to meet his mom. Just then, she arrives from the Grouch Express - she and her luggage are tossed off a bus. Gordon introduces himself to her, and she immediately starts to blame her son for moving into a nice and clean neighborhood, feeling he's not as grouchy as he used to be. She makes her way into Oscar's can and demands he mess it up more. (YouTube)

SCENE 3
Oscar's mom is still upset over what she's witnessed during her visit. Oscar tries to cheer her up when he sees Big Bird approaching and hides inside his can (knowing that Big Bird would do something nice to repulse her). Big Bird notices Mrs. Grouch and mistakes her for her son, thinking it's another one of Oscar's tricks. It's not until he hears Oscar from the can that he finally realizes that she's really his mother. Big Bird leaves for a minute and comes back with a "MOM" sign and sticks it on her so people don't mistake her for her son. Once he exits, Oscar's mom commends her son on the trick he played.

Oscar holds a Grouchketeer meeting in honor for his mother when Gordon and Linda arrive. Linda wants to meet Oscar's mom, and Oscar tries to get them to get lost. Mrs. Grouch learns that Linda is deaf and uses sign language, and Linda shows how she says "get lost." Mrs. Grouch likes it and wants to learn more, so she learns the sign for "mom." Gordon suggests they combine them and say, "Get lost, mom!"

Oscar's mom complains about the quiet in the neighborhood. Oscar brings out the Grouchketeer band, who bang and toot on old beat-up toys. Oscar tries to pull another trick on his mom saying that the loudness makes him sleepy, only she can tell he's faking. Oscar gets back at his mother by having the Grouchketeers pretend to fall asleep instead.

Mrs. Grouch is happy to see her son is as grouchy as ever and begins to push the car as Gordon announces the sponsors.
