	SCENE 1	Uncle Wally welcomes the viewer when Telly rushes in to inform him that the Grand High Triangle Lover - president of the Triangle Lovers Club - is coming to Sesame Street today! Telly doesn't know the reason for the visit, but a royal fanfare plays as the GHTL arrives with his assistant Norman, loudly playing his musical triangle. The GHTL tells Telly that he believes he'd be a good candidate for "Triangle Lover of the Year" and win a triangle-shaped trophy; all he has to do is show him how much he loves triangles by the time he and Norman get back. They exit and Telly starts pondering how to show his triangular love, figuring that a song might be good enough.

	SCENE 2	Oscar witnesses Slimey with Telly, who explains that they're rehearsing a song about how much he loves triangles. Telly plays the tuba and sings the song while Slimey plays the triangle, using a special helmet to make the dings. Oscar is uncharacteristically impressed with the tune, which leads Telly to worry that if a Grouch likes the song, then everyone else will hate it. He gives it up and decides to do a triangle dance instead.

	SCENE 3	Savion gives a tap-dancing lesson to some kids when a panicked Telly rushes in and asks if he knows any triangle dances. "Well, I've heard of square dancing - why not triangles?" Savion says, and begins to come up with one. He hands a musical triangle to Telly, and dings it while forming the shape of a triangle on the ground with his foot. The kids join in shortly afterward, but when Savion makes the dance more complicated, a slack-jawed Telly calls the dance off to move on to something else.

	SCENE 5	Telly is now drawing triangles with different-colored crayons in a rush. Savion and Uncle Wally tell him that even if he's not picked to be "Triangle Lover of the Year" he can still have his love for triangles. When Telly realizes this he begins to relax...
	SCENE 5 cont'd	... just when the GHTL and Norman arrive! They're now ready for Telly to show them why he loves triangles; taking what he's learned, Telly grabs a crayon and paper and simply writes the word "LOVE" to express himself. The GHTL is moved by Telly's simple presentation and gives him the special triangle-shaped award. Telly gives an acceptance speech and begins to thank all the triangles that were a part of his life, which leads to a deeper conversation with the GHTL.

	SCENE 6	It's nighttime, and Telly is still making his acceptance speech (currently up to the 500th important triangle in his life). Uncle Wally comes back to take Telly home, but the GHTL wants to hear more, calling it the best triangle-related speech he's ever heard. Norman ruins the mood with more triangle dings, prompting the GHTL to begin chasing Norman around while Telly continues his speech and Uncle Wally announces the sponsors.

• This episode was later repeated in Season 24 as Episode 3022.
• During his acceptance speech, Telly comments that the first triangle he loved was in a mobile hanging above his crib. Years later, in Episode 4009, it's revealed that this was also the first time Telly had seen a triangle.
