SCENE 1
At Finders Keepers, Big Bird tries to welcome the viewer with a block in his beak. Ruthie takes the block out so he can properly talk, then lets him finish stacking all the blocks on one of her higher shelves. As a reward for helping out, Ruthie lets him pick a toy on display from an outdoor bin. Which one will he pick?

SCENE 2
Big Bird has picked a toy car with a control attached to it, making it go either forward or backward with the flip of a switch. Telly encounters him playing with the car and is amazed at the way it moves. Big Bird realizes that he has to use the bathroom, and asks Telly to watch his toy car while he's gone. Telly vows to make sure nothing bad happens to the car, and has fun testing it multiple times to make sure it works. However, the car suddenly stops working and Telly panics.

Miles passes by and points out to him that there's an "OUT TO LUNCH" sign on the door, which means they aren't in the store right now. Telly decides to wait until they return from lunch, but he suddenly hears Big Bird coming back and hides behind the Fix-it Shop outdoor bench.

Telly, still hiding from Big Bird, wonders when Maria and Luis will return from lunch. Big Bird continues looking for Telly and asks Gabi if she's seen him. She hasn't, but invites Big Bird to play hide-and-seek with her while he waits for Telly to return. As she counts, Big Bird almost decides to hide behind the Fix-it Shop bench... but then he realizes that his feathers (or another body part) will still be visible if he hides there, so he decides to hide in the park. Telly breathes a sigh of relief, and thinks of another way of avoiding confrontation with Big Bird.

SCENE 5
Telly has disguised himself as a firefighter (with sunglasses and a beard), thinking Big Bird won't recognize him. Big Bird approaches him and becomes slightly dubious, making sure he knows what a firefighter does. When the disguised Telly gets all of Big Bird's questions right, Big Bird is convinced. He continues his search for Telly, who wonders how much longer he'll have to hide from Big Bird.

SCENE 6
Telly, now out of his disguise, has decided to tell Big Bird the truth about the toy car. Big Bird arrives with Luis and becomes disappointed when he finds out his toy car is broken. Luis inspects it and reveals that it's not really broken - it just needs new batteries. He puts some new ones in and the car works again! Telly confesses to Big Bird how relieved he is not to hide anymore, even demonstrating how he was the firefighter Big Bird had met earlier. Luis announces the sponsors.
