Description
SCENE 1Elmo welcomes the viewer, feeling happy about his play date with Telly today. Telly shows up and reveals that he isn't able to play with Elmo because he has to visit his aunt. Elmo then sees if Big Bird is available to play, but learns from Gabi that Big Bird is away visiting his Granny Bird. Gabi and Lexine can't play with Elmo either, since they have to go to school.

Elmo feels sad because there's no one to play with him. He spots Maria working at the Fix-It Shop and runs towards her, thinking she'll play with him...

Elmo thinks that Maria is available since she's not visiting anyone or going to school, but she breaks it to him that she's got lots of work to do. Elmo starts feeling sad and alone once more, so Maria suggests that he could draw and gives him some crayons and paper. Now Elmo is happy again!

Elmo sees she's as busy as everyone else and runs off in tears; Maria realizes just how upset he is and follows him.

SCENE 5
Maria catches up with Elmo in the yard and tries her best to convince him that she's not too busy to share some time with him. She insists they read his book now, and they walk through the ways Elmo went from sad to happy during his day. The story ends with a drawing of Elmo making his book, but Elmo comes up with a new ending involving what just happened between him and Maria, and they're both happy to see that the story (and his day) still has a happy ending.

SCENE 6
Telly returns from his trip and greets Elmo, but becomes upset when he sees that Elmo's busy drawing a picture. Elmo finishes the picture right then and there, which happens to be a picture of himself and Telly. Telly really likes it, and the two try to emulate the happy expressions Elmo drew as Maria announces the sponsors, as well as the status of Slimey's spaceship.
