"Winter Wonderland" is a winter song, popularly treated as a Christmastime pop standard, written in 1934, that has been recorded by over 150 different artists including Guy Lombardo, Perry Como, Bette Midler and Ozzy Osbourne & Jessica Simpson.

The song has had additional lyrics included on various recordings. The original lyrics include references to Parson Brown, a Protestant minister, who can marry a couple. These lyrics were first substituted in 1953 with those about a Snowman, due to concerns that the original bridge of the song was inappropriate for children.

• Gonzo interrupted Hal Linden's patriotic Fourth of July medley by singing "Winter Wonderland" in The Muppet Show episode 517.

Sesame Street[]

• "Winter Wonderland" is featured on the albums A Sesame Street Christmas and Merry Christmas from Sesame Street.

• Ethel Merman and Oscar the Grouch also sang "Winter Wonderland" in the closing medley of A Special Sesame Street Christmas.

• The song is musical accompaniment, provided by the Jascha Lombardi Orchestra, during the Guy Smiley sketch "The Weather Show."

• The song is included on the Bob McGrath album, Bob! from Sesame Street: Christmas Sing Along.

• For the album Happy Sesame Street Christmas, the song was included in Japanese.

Other Muppet Productions[]

• Rowlf the Dog and Jimmy Dean sang an abridged version of the song on the January 21, 1965 broadcast of The Jimmy Dean Show.

• Harry Connick Jr. was performing the song on The Today Show's The Muppets Take Over Today in 2008 for the Muppet version of the show's hosts, when the real hosts and Kermit arrived to end the takeover.

• Kermit the Frog sang a sing-along rendition with Barack Obama, Michelle Obama and others at The National Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony in 2011.
