Xanadu is a 1980 film musical starring Olivia Newton-John as a muse who comes to earth to inspire an artist in a world of roller skating and discos. While the movie was a noted box office flop at the time, the soundtrack album was a hit and the movie has gained appreciation. A 2007 Broadway musical adaptation starred Kerry Butler as the muse.
