Our mission is to promote a sustainable and healthy open source ecosystem and work for the common interests of those who create and use open source software.
Open Source Collective (OSC) is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit fiscal host that has been providing financial and legal infrastructure to open source projects since 2017. Our mission is to support a sustainable and healthy open source ecosystem by providing an umbrella structure for our hosted projects and handling the behind-the-scenes tasks such as issuing invoices, managing a bank account, contract review and signature, and more.
Our team has years of experience working in and operating registered nonprofits, as well as involvement in the open source community. This dual expertise allows us to understand and meet the unique needs of both nonprofit operations and open source projects.
What We Offer:
- Financial Management: We offer comprehensive financial services, including accounting, invoicing, and bank account management. Also, through the Open Collective platform, you can raise funds, pay contributors, and manage finances transparently.
- Legal Support: We provide legal support, such as contract review and signature, to protect your project and ensure compliance with pertinent laws.
- Community and Development Opportunities: Join a network of over 3,000 projects and benefit from peer support, professional development, and a collaborative environment.
