depends on what you care about.  8-)

If you have to disassemble code which uses the VMS or NT PAL calls,
rather than the OSF/1 PAL calls, then yes, the diff does do harm (by
providing the 'wrong' disassembly).

Whether that harm is enough to worry about is something for somebody
else to decide.  (Personally, I've wished for OSF/1 PAL call
disassembly, but...)
