I was going to branch this past Tuesday, but got somewhat sidetracked by my
botched stdbool fixes.  I'm instead going to do it on Saturday, probably
around 18:00 UTC.  After that, I plan to spend some time looking at failures
and testing the branch before I really commit to a schedule.
