Nope.  Grep for mips_stabs_elf in gas/configure.in, and MIPS_STABS_ELF
in gas/config/tc-mips.c.  The difference is .mdebug-encoded stabs or
.stabs/.stabstr encoded stabs.

I'm trying to kill mdebug everywhere I can.
