IMHO - I think that we should support both spellings, even if only for
consistency purposes. (We already accept -march=armv5 and
-march=armv4, and as far as I know there are no v5 cores without Thumb
support).

Well in this case I think that the change is not quite "obvious" so I
would have preferred to have finished this discussion before you
committed the patch, but it is hardly a serious breach of etiquette.
