I recommend building CVS versions of binutils with --disable-shared.
It's all too easy to have a mismatch between ld and libbfd versions.

> /usr/lib/libbfd-2.14.90.so is the installed libbfd from todays CVS.

Of course, Carlo seems to be aware of the potential problem. :)
