Sure - well; in the past OO.o has had link maps & the like to handle this stuff per-symbol. However - they are hard to maintain, work badly across platform & compiler toolchains, and ... well ;-) I'm hoping that just not binding weak symbols internally is an easy to use & non-controversial feature that would be useful for other large C++ projects no doubt.
