This is a revised version of the patch posted here:
http://sourceware.org/ml/binutils/2013-01/msg00372.html

That patch has already been approved, but when I was digging around 
investigating a failure on 64-bit host I tweaked a couple macros in 
include/opcode/nios2.h.  I also fixed some tab/spaces formatting issues 
in the new .c files.  So, I'm posting the revised patch just for 
completeness.
