Edinburgh University Students' Association
Welcome To About Us
We believe University is about so much more than just getting a degree! Students can discover new passions, share unforgettable experiences and make lifelong friends.
All 49,000 University of Edinburgh students - from Undergraduates to Postgraduate Masters and PhD students - are automatically members of their Students' Association. We're here for them, from their first day through to graduation!
Run for and by students, we are here to enhance the student experience at Edinburgh by providing amazing spaces, entertainment, communities, support and opportunities for students to make their voices heard. And as a registered charity, every penny spent at our shops, venues, or events goes right back into helping students.
We are a separate organisation to the University of Edinburgh, but work in close partnership. Our student representatives sit on a variety of University committees, including University Court to ensure student voices are heard at the highest levels of the University.

Hi! I'm Dusty! You can see me around campus at Edinburgh living my best Edinburgh Student Life! Get involved with your Students’ Association and you won’t look back! #DoItForTheMoose
The Students’ Association has a long moose history... In 1925, a (now famous) moose head was gifted to the Student Union President by Duncan McCallum Stewart of Millhills. It has hung in Teviot Row House ever since. Over the years it’s been a target of university rivalries - twice stolen - the subject of a court battle and had ‘moose-cam’ in its eyes to deter thieves (now defunct). The moose served as a mascot for the first time in the early 2000s, and now, nearly 100 years since a moose moved into Teviot, we’re excited to welcome our new moose mascot, Dusty!
