Launched on October 29, the new Pyrenees-Mediterranean Euroregion marries the French regions of Midi-Pyrenees and Languedoc-Roussillon with the Spanish regions of Aragon, Catalonia and the Balearics.

The most recent addition to the French regional delegations in Brussels is the Midi-Pyrenees representation which has opened at 55 rue d'Arlon - 1040 Brussels.

The floods, which struck over the November 13/14 weekend, hit the Aude, Herault and Eastern Pyrenees departments in the Languedoc-Roussillon region and the Tarn department in the Midi-Pyrenees region.In the next Structural Fund package for the 2000-2006 period, the regions will be eligible under new Objective 2, which covers rural development.
