UTS Learning Center
UTS Learning Center is a platform for developing and deploying e-Learning courses or e-Books. You can author multimedia content that consists of text, graphics, animations, audio, video, live calculations using related mathematical models as well as periodic examinations. The content can be used within the network of an educational institution or a professional organization or can be deployed over the cloud.
Companies that trust UTS
Some of the UTS partners who have developed creative applications using TK Solver
William G. “Bill” Smith
President, Enviro/Sci Corporation, SouthEast, Pennsylvania, USA
Bill Smith is an expert in design troubleshooting and optimizing waste water treatment plants with over 40 years of experience. TK Solver is such an important part of his work that since 1984 he has been using it nearly 7 days a week, 365 days per year!
James S. Sobek
Jim is an expert in Accident Reconstruction (forensic science) and is employed at Wolf Technical in Indianapolis. Jim Sobek is a true fan of TK Solver and has been using it since 1984. He has set up mathematical models based on kinetic energy, lighting, geometry and many other aspects to analyze and reconstruct an accident.
Darril Aronowitz
Pr. Eng. Mechanical - Johannesburg, South Africa
Darril is one of the most skilled persons in the use of TK Solver for desktop or cloud based applications. He is also very good at using Excel and TK Solver in a combination. Excel is used as a “Dashboard” while most of the logic and mathematical / engineering formulas are set up in TK Solver.
See What Our Customers Say About UTS
I work primarily in the mining industry, both locally in South Africa and for International clients. I started using TK Solver in 1992 when I was employed by the Anglo American Corporation. I use this software extensively and find it very efficient to do quick as well as complex calculations. I make extensive use of the inbuilt libraries and list functions. The back solving capability as well as the units handling make the TK Solver Platform very appealing.
In 2020, I started experimenting with the new CalcEdge Online Platform in which I have developed some useful hydraulic applications which I regularly use. I strongly believe CalcEdge will offer great advantage to end users. In late 2020, I started experimenting with the TK Solver to Excel, Seamless, bi-directional link. I also use VBA in the development of a Hydraulic Grade Line Application for Mine Tailings Pipe Line Design. This interface allows access to multiple TK models from a central Excel dashboard, simplifying the complexity of the application and protecting IP. The support from UTS is unsurpassed and I am proud to be associated with the TK Solver software and the company (UTS).
I have used TK Solver since its invention around 1980 up to the present in much of my university level teaching career. I have used in my aircraft flight test engineering course, in my graduate level space mission and analysis and design course, and in teaching both aircraft and spacecraft capstone design courses. TK Solver allows a convenient and comprehensive way to explore the solution space around a point solution for a problem. It has been an indispensable aid in designing and grading of examination problems. It has been indispensable in the design of problems for statics and dynamics textbooks
For the past 25 years, we have used TKSolver as an interactive calculation platform for machine component design and our capstone design course. Recently, we started using TK’s interconnectivity to solid modeling programs such as Autocad Inventor and SolidWorks using Excel to create powerful system design tools. Designers can edit their designs in the solid modeling, Excel or TK interface’s and Tk keeps the analysis current, providing immediate feedback to the designer. Throughout this whole time, customer support from the UTS team has been exceptional.
