Right, filesystems sort lexicographically(ie 1, 10, 2, 3) because they treat names as strings, not numbers.

Seems quite suspicious that the first change by the new "maintainer" is to break the package by downgrading it, with all the abuse happening in the AUR lately it is probably best to avoid this.

Reverted to original, bumped pkgrel for a clean rebuild.
