History
Following the Silver Age era, DC's Bronze Age is largely recognized as beginning with the 1970s when DC published Jack Kirby's Fourth World and Superman: Sandman Saga, and ended in 1985 with the start of the Iron Age following the 1985-86 crossover maxi-series, Crisis on Infinite Earths. Crisis yielded not only the end of an era, but also a multiversal reboot of the internal history of most of their major projects.
Many characters and events that are germane to the continuity of Earth-One are said to be part of the Bronze Age.
Note: Prior to a 2025 change in policy, the term "Bronze Age" was used on the DC Database to refer to comics published from 1970 to 1979, while "Copper Age" referred to comics published from 1980 to 1985. We now consider the "Bronze Age" to span from 1970 to 1985, eliminating the "Copper Age" designation.
