EdwardLab - Overview

Welcome, I’m Edward

I’m Edward. I build things, lead projects, and spend most of my time thinking about systems that should exist but don’t yet.

I’m the founder of DigitalPlat, a nonprofit focused on internet freedom and open-source infrastructure, now serving tens of thousands of users worldwide. The work sits at the intersection of technology, public interest, and long-term digital resilience.

I also founded EdgeAlphix LLC, where I experiment with open-source software and infrastructure at a more aggressive pace. The goal is simple: build systems that are useful, durable, and aligned with human freedom rather than short-term incentives.

Most of my projects live close to the metal. Operating systems, containers, virtualization, DNS, portable runtimes, and infrastructure that has to survive real-world abuse. I enjoy building things end to end, from low-level mechanics to systems people actually rely on.

My current focus usually circles around:

  • Operating systems and kernel-level engineering
  • Containers, virtualization, and edge computing
  • Portable runtimes and interpreter ecosystems
  • DNS, networking protocols, and secure infrastructure
  • Embedded systems, IoT, and applied cybersecurity

On the leadership side, I’m hands-on by default. I design, write code, review architecture, handle infrastructure, and still talk directly with users. I currently maintain all of my projects myself, balancing school, life, and a very opinionated backlog.

Roles, for context:

  • Founder & President, EdgeAlphix LLC
  • Founder, DigitalPlat Foundation
  • OSI Member

If anything here overlaps with what you’re building or thinking about, feel free to reach out.
