I work in tech and I love it — but I also think we've handed people a world with shorter attention spans, worse mental health, and more anxiety than before, and called it progress. I'd like to see that change.
The side projects I care most about are the ones that use software to give something back — to the planet, to people's focus, to the quality of everyday life. Tech is powerful enough to have caused these problems. It's powerful enough to fix them too.
Things I'm Building
🌊 ChannelSurf — Linear TV using YouTube. You drop in mid-stream, you can't pause or rewind, and changing the channel means missing what was on. Content is curated by AI from crowdsourced forums like Reddit — so everything on air has already been vetted by real people, not an algorithm chasing engagement.
📚 Bookshare — A mobile app for sharing and borrowing books with people in your neighborhood. Because not every book needs to be bought new, and some of the best recommendations come from the person next door.
💃 Choreo — AI choreography generator. Describe a style or mood and get a full routine back.
🖼️ Photo Frame — Raspberry Pi digital photo frame that pulls from Google Photos and S3. A slow screen for a change.
