TheAlbertDev - Overview

About Me

I'm an Engineering Director at Onalabs and Lecturer at the Universitat de Barcelona, bridging the gap between cutting-edge hardware and production-grade software. With a PhD in Engineering & Applied Sciences and deep expertise in embedded systems, firmware, and electronics, I design the low-level foundations that make connected devices actually work — from microcontrollers to microfluidic wearables.

I'm passionate about making complex engineering accessible: through courses, publications, and open-source tooling, I help the next generation of engineers build things that matter.

What I Do

Engineering Leadership

  • Director of Engineering at Onalabs, leading hardware, firmware, and software (front/backend apps) teams building end-to-end data platforms

  • Bridging research and production: from lab prototypes to production-ready solutions

  • Driving sustainable hardware/software design with life cycle assessment practices

Teaching & Research

  • Lecturer at Universitat de Barcelona, teaching embedded systems and electronics

  • Creator of MASB — a structured firmware engineering course for STM32

  • Published researcher across energy harvesting, self-powered systems, point-of-care diagnostics, wearable biosensors, and sustainable hardware design
