Albany was the capital of New York , in the eastern part of the state, on the western bank of the Hudson River.

Phoenix blew up Albany, New York and killed around 600,000 people there[1] Albany was bombed by the United States Air Force in order to kill the Phoenix.[2]
A crater was left there, as a monument to the disaster.[3] To this day, mutants around the world still recognize Albany as a pivotal event.[4]
