Suba was one of the tribes[1] or tribal kingdoms of the Black Coast, within the Second Belt of the Black Kingdoms,[2]
Bordered by the Western Ocean to the west and south, and close to the Silver Isles, Suba was bordered at the north by the Amazon, at the northeast by Atlaia, and at the southeast by the Land of No Return.[3]
Conan, in his days of pirates as "Amra", had contact with Suba.[1]
As he faced the army of the dead led by Derketa the Death Dancer in the Kushite wilderness, Conan thought of subsequently head south, to Suba or the Silver Isles.[4]
- Suba was created by Robert E. Howard in "Drums of Tombalku",[1] an unfinished and untitled fragment completed by L. Sprague de Camp and freely adapted as "The Horror of Red Terror" in Savage Sword of Conan #21, written by Roy Thomas and penciled by John Buscema.
