James Lashly (born 23 April 1946; age 79) is an actor who played Kopf in the Star Trek: The Next Generation fourth season episode "Brothers" and George Primmin in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine first season episodes "The Passenger" and "Move Along Home".
His other work includes an appearance as a state trooper in Howard the Duck (1986, starring Lea Thompson, with David Paymer, Paul Guilfoyle, Paul Comi, John Fleck, and the voice of Richard Kiley) and the Canadian ambassador on an episode of The West Wing (starring Martin Sheen and featuring Thomas Kopache and Ron Canada, among others). He also appeared an episode of The Michael Richards Show, a series that also featured Gregory Itzin, Cindy Katz, Bill Erwin, Brenda Strong, Dakin Matthews and Ed Begley, Jr..
