Altharra IV was a class M planet located in the Altharra star system of The Triangle at the edge of the Alpha and Beta Quadrant. It was located midway between the Romulan and Klingon spheres of influence and spin wards from the Mantiev Colonial Association.
The Altharrans were a peaceful population known for their skills as nutritional producers and exporters. They usually used these qualities as their bargaining chip in hopes of acquiring high level technology. This was rather easy, since they posted a very low level of technological advancement, which was the reason that the Federation, Klingons, Romulans never showed any interest in this world. The planet possessed very little in space armament, with only in-system defenses. However, they did possess a large ground force on the surface, and were no match for any of the neighboring systems. Altharra would trade with anyone willing to pay the price.
There were many nations on Altharra, each of which had its own form of government regrouped as the League of Nations. However, the real power resided with the Agrarian League, which controlled and oversaw most trades. (FASA RPG module: The Triangle)
