Star Trek – Catan is a variant of the popular Settlers of Catan board game.

Description[]

SPACE... the Final Frontier. The many resource-rich planets within the limits of Federation territory await exploration and settlement. Build outposts and starbases to extract the resources. Using your fleet of starships, establish supply routes that enable you to boldly go further into deep space. Avoid resource shortages by trading with your opponents and Federation neighbors. If your opponents venture too far into your space, though, you might need to divert the Klingons to drive them away... because in the end, only one can be the Federation's greatest hero! Take up the challenge!"
Star Trek Catan transports the timeless game concept of the world's most acclaimed board game — The Settlers of Catan — into the exciting Star Trek universe. The popular characters of the Starship Enterprise come into play through novel new "support cards". Build, trade and settle where no one has gone before!

Objective[]

The game ends when a player has — or reaches — 10 or more victory points on his turn. That player is declared the winner, and is acknowledged by all as "Starfleet Admiral of Catan".

  • 19 sector tiles (containing various colored planets and an asteroid field)
  • 6 frame pieces
  • 95 resource cards (19 each of tritanium, food, oxygen, dilithium, water)
  • 25 development cards (14 intervention, 6 progress, 5 victory point)
  • 10 support cards (characters)
  • 6 additional cards (building costs, longest supply route, largest Starfleet)
  • 26 game pieces (in each of four colors)
  • 18 number tokens

Background[]

The first edition was released in 2012 in German and English. French, Spanish, Dutch, and Italian releases followed in 2013. An expansion set, Catan – Federation Space, was also released in 2013. A Catan second edition came out in 2018.
