Tour Eiffel as seen from the Café des Artistes in 2342 (We'll Always Have Paris)
The Eiffel Tower (in French: Tour Eiffel) is a structure on Earth located within the city of Paris, France.
History and specifics[]
The tower was built originally in 1889 for the Centennial Exposition, and was still standing in the late 24th century. At 300 meters high, it was one of the tallest structures in Paris.
The tower is near the Palais de la Concorde, and visible from the Presidential Office. (TOS movie: Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country; DS9 episodes: "Homefront", "Paradise Lost") It was also visible from the Café des Artistes in Paris. (TNG episode: "We'll Always Have Paris")
The Eiffel Tower was destroyed during fighting in World War III. A new tower was soon built using the original 19th century blueprints. (DS9 novel: Trapped in Time)
Eiffel Tower in 2266.
Celebrated Earth mathematician and pacifist Alfred Bleikoff was cryogenically frozen in the 1990s and revived in the year 2266 aboard the USS Enterprise. He was allowed to anonymously tour Earth for five days before his official reception. James T. Kirk, Spock, Leonard McCoy and Montgomery Scott showed him the Eiffel Tower, Great Pyramid, Mount Everest, Mount Rushmore National Memorial and the Statue of Liberty. (TOS comic: "Prophet of Peace")
The tower collapsed again on stardate 24:17.9, at 12:40 pm Earth time, as the result of a sort of voodoo attack. Count Dressler fired a laser beam at a papier-mâché recreation of Earth and struck its own Eiffel Tower, which collapsed, causing the real one to collapse at the exact same time on Earth. (TOS comic: "The Voodoo Planet")
