Vulcans often made it with sikrah or Kaferian apples.

In the 2260s decade, Nurse Christine Chapel got a recipe for the dish from Commander Spock and adapted it for the USS Enterprise's food processors. She described her adaptation as an apple omelet, formulated with Earth-variety apples such as McIntosh or Jonathan, along with eggs, milk, salt, flour, butter, sugar, and cinnamon.
