Starfleet encountered a ship of this class in the year 2369 and designated it as a Borg type 03 vessel. (TNG episode & novelization: Descent)

The same hull design was used by the liberated Borg command juggernaut. Typically for Borg starships of its time period, a liberated Borg command juggernaut was fitted with standard issue equipment and weapons, including a shield array, deflector array, impulse engines and matter anti-matter warp core. assimilated plasma beam arrays and a plasma torpedo launcher. (STO - Legacy missions: "Explore the Flotilla", "The Hunt is On", "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

Specifically, a ship of the class included five forward weapon mounts and three aft. Additionally, the plasma disintegrator was an innate ability. This weapon fired a massive plasma bolt and caused widespread plasma damage on the target and around it. (STO website: Legacy: Command the Borg Juggernaut!)

These consisted of four assimilated plasma beam arrays and one plasma torpedo launcher in the fore, and three assimilated plasma beam arrays aft. (STO - Legacy missions: "Explore the Flotilla", "The Hunt is On", "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

Bridge officer stations beside the commanding officer allowed for a commander pulling double duty as tactical officer and command officer, a lieutenant commander from engineering, another lieutenant commander - this officer belonging to any department; a lieutenant doubling as tactical officer and miracle worker, and an ensign of any department. As a command ship, it included the inspiration ability mechanic, which meant that special power redistribution could improve the combat abilities of the command ship and nearby allies. A battle-hardened juggernaut benefitted from devastating weaponry, enhanced weapon banks, rapid repairs, enhanced weapon systems and, initially unique to this class, the enhanced nanite regeneration starship trait. Also first equipped on this class was the disruptive topological matrix, a weapon based on the effect that liberated Hugh from the Borg Collective by overwhelming logic processes. The matrix also caused plasma damage and attacked subsystems. (STO website: Legacy: Command the Borg Juggernaut!)

The juggernaut version of the Borg type 03 was equipped with a impulse engines, warp core and quantum slipstream drive, enabling it to reach impulse, warp, transwarp and quantum slipstream velocities. Cloaking was not an innate ability but various mechanisms could be installed to serve as a cloaking device. The hull was modular and could be modified at shipyards operated by New Romulus Shipyards, Klingon Defense Force Order of Builders and Starfleet Shipyards Operations at Alliance facilities across the Milky Way Galaxy. (STO - Legacy missions: "Explore the Flotilla", "The Hunt is On", "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

This vessel became a mainstay of the Borg Cooperative's fleet. The class and its technology were shared by the liberated Borg with the Khitomer Alliance in the year 2411. (STO website: Legacy: Command the Borg Juggernaut!)

In 2410, the Liberator was a Borg type 03 dreadnought that served as the Cooperative's flagship. (STO - The Delta Quadrant mission: "Friends in Unlikely Places")

The Yasutake was a Type 03 dreadnought operating as Director Hugh's vessel and Cooperative flagship in 2411. At the time, the Cooperative deployed ships that consisted of components and rearranged hull parts of the Borg type 03. These vessels took part in the Battle of Ram Izad against the Aetherian Concordium and Control Borg. (STO - Kings & Queens mission: "Axiom")
