Kira Nerys is ordered to remove a stubborn Bajoran man from a moon of Bajor that is soon to become uninhabitable; Jake Sisko and Nog start a trading business.
Summary[]
The Bajorans are preparing to tap the molten core of Bajor’s moon for much needed energy before winter. On a visit to the moon, Major Kira finds that three inhabitants, Mullibok, Baltrim and Keena, are refusing to leave. Kira befriends Mullibok, but is unable to convince the Bajoran government to halt the energy project and when security personnel try to detain Baltrim and Keena, one of the officers is attacked and Mullibok is shot. Kira remains on the moon to care for him and Sisko counsels her that she will have to decide what to do, even she doesn’t want to. Kira sets fire to Mullibok’s cottage and they leave the moon together.
Meanwhile on Deep Space 9, Jake and Nog make a number of deals, like selling Cardassian yamok sauce to a Lissepian trader for self-sealing stem bolts. They trade the self-sealing stem bolts for land on Bajor, which in turn they sell to Quark.
