The Sakharov (NCC-1701-D/01) was a Federation type-7 shuttlecraft in service to Starfleet in the mid-24th century. (ST reference: The Star Trek Encyclopedia)

History[]

The Sakharov was assigned to the USS Enterprise-D in the early 2360s, and served as one of the auxiliary craft until at least the end of the decade.

In the year 2365, under the supervision of Doctor Katherine Pulaski, the Sakharov served as a quarantine vessel for children from the Darwin Genetic Research Station. (TNG episode: "Unnatural Selection")

Later that year, the shuttle transported Sirna Kolrami to the Enterprise-D. (TNG episode: "Peak Performance")

In 2366, the shuttle was available in the hangar of the main shuttlebay. (TNG episode: "Evolution")

In 2366, the humanised Q stole the Sakharov to draw the attacking Calamarain away from the Enterprise. (TNG episode: "Deja Q")

In 2369, Commander William T. Riker and Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge used the shuttle to lay mines on and around Cardassian ships in the McAllister C-5 Nebula. (TNG episode: "Chain of Command")
