Sykora was a 24th century Romulan woman, a subcommander in the Romulan Empire's Imperial Solar Guard in the 2360s decade.
Biography[]
Sykora was an associate of Zevon, a member of the Romulan royal family. She had strong feelings for him and objected to the royals abandoning him as a prisoner of the Pojjana after Zevon was captured attempting to fix a disastrous mistake he had made in instigating a quantum carrier-wave beam induced gravity disruption at the Bal Quonnot homeworld. The science experiment's drastic errors devastated the neighboring planet PojjanPiraKot.
Sykora commandeered a three-person starship and went into the Red sector to find Zevon. The ship was devastated by the Pojjan defenses and her crew died, but Sykora was reunited with Zevon.
When Eric Stiles came to retrieve Zevon in the year 2369, Sykora was fiercely protective against Starfleet's clandestine attempt to take him offworld. When Spock and Stiles revealed they were doing so to use Zevon's blood to synthesize an antidote to a multiprion virus disease that was genetically engineered to kill only Romulan royals, they reluctantly agreed to assist. However, before Leonard McCoy could obtain the sample, Orsova attacked Zevon aboard the CST Saskatoon and infected him. All was not lost, as Sykora was pregnant and a sample from the unborn child was used to create the cure they sought. (TNG - Double Helix novel: Red Sector)
