"Adding, Adding, Adding" is performed by Ernie with several of his friends on backup. Through song, he wants to relate to Bert that adding is fun, and stresses that his favorite numbers come in adding more people to the group. As such, Cookie Monster, Grover, four cows, an elephant and a Martian (performed by Martin P. Robinson) join him in the apartment.
The song is a rewritten version of "One and One Make Two," with new lyrics.
