Angelo

Angelo is a jovial Muppet chef, with a thick Italian accent, who appears in the 2010 web series The Muppets Kitchen with Cat Cora. He also co-hosts the sister-series Hasty Tasty Cooking Tips alongside Cat Cora (armed with a video camera to capture the action close-up).

Like the Swedish Chef, Angelo has real human hands as opposed to traditional Muppet hands (performed by Paul McGinnis),[2] due to the fact that Angelo handles real food on the show.

In promotional material for the show, it is stated that the Swedish Chef "discovered" Angelo.[3] At a publicity event promoting the series, Angelo claims he's been apprenticing under the Swedish Chef (while also attending night school to receive a proper culinary education).[4] The two chefs only interact together once in the series at the coda of "Breakfast Isn't Just For Breakfast Anymore," and Beauregard confuses Angelo for his counterpart in "World's Biggest Sandwich."

The character was originally intended to be performed by Bill Barretta.[5] He based the character and named him after a local pizzeria owner he knew.[6] In publicity photos, Angelo is depicted wearing orange Crocs, a reference to chef Mario Batali and his signature pair.

The Angelo puppet, with a new outfit and regular Muppet hands, appeared as a part of the Muppet Theatre Audience in the 2026 The Muppet Show special.
