Picture Segment Description

SCENE 1 Big Bird talks on the phone with his Mommy, who gives him a hint about the surprise present she mailed to him: it's big and rhymes with the word "note." He thinks of what it could be: it's not a "zoat," "gloat," or a "girrote." He then believes it's a goat, and goes off to gather some things.

SCENE 2 Bob encounters Big Bird gathering straw, tin cans, and a bell to tie around the goat's neck. Bob informs him that a goat would be pretty hard to send through the mail, so it's likely not the rhyme he's looking for. Big Bird then guesses he's getting a boat.

SCENE 3 As Big Bird gathers his fishing gear, a sail, an oar, and an anchor, Gordon tells him that it is impossible to send a full-size boat through the mail. Big Bird wonders what the present could be.

He wants to join in the fun and leaves to get his own tin can.
