Description
SCENE 1Big Bird discovers a pair of sleeping birds near his nest. They wake up and introduce themselves as Peter-Paul and Marilou. Peter-Paul begins to explain how they've been flying south for the winter and need some rest, when Marilou suggests they sing instead. The two birds proceed to sing about how they've flown "Forty Miles" from home. Big Bird allows them to stay and rest.

Big Bird leads them to Hooper's Store, while Snuffy stays behind with Alice, who's fallen asleep herself.

Since they're so used to being fed, Gina acts like a mother bird to feed them their birdseed.

The call is from Peter-Paul and Marilou, who've made another pit stop and decided to call Big Bird on a payphone. He asks where they are, and based on the descriptions of their surroundings and the nearby people, he sees that they're merely down the block by the Fix-It Shop. They hang up and head off, though Big Bird assumes their trip is going to be longer than expected.
