SCENE 1 cont'd As the program begins, Sally introduces her guests, whom Oscar believes are perfect for the Grouch audience (which includes Grundgetta). He claims the fairy tale stars can never be friends because Goldilocks is always making Baby Bear angry. To prove it, he's brought along a copy of Goldilocks and the Three Bears to show how their troubled relationship began. He begins reading, and by the time he reaches the section where Goldilocks samples the porridge, Baby Bear is very angry. Oscar happily teases there's more to come in the story, so Sally throws the program to a commercial break.

Baby Bear is furious that Goldilocks never apologized for what she did, but Goldilocks says that she was scared as she didn't know the Three Bears were friendly. She apologizes profusely to Baby Bear, who admits that he'd feel scared too if he woke up to strangers staring at him. To the chagrin of all the Grouches, he realizes that he's no longer angry at her, and the two put aside their differences and become friends. Goldilocks thanks Oscar for bringing them on "this nice lady's show," where they could discover their deeply hidden friendly feelings toward each other. The audience riots and Oscar tries to apologize to Sally, who promises her next show won't have a happy ending. ("Hey, give Rumpelstiltskin a call; I hear he's still pretty upset!")

SCENE 6 Back on Sesame Street, Susan says she saw Baby Bear and Goldilocks on television and thinks it's great that they're friends now; Oscar thinks otherwise. Susan begins to announce the sponsors when Goldilocks interrupts, telling her to let Baby Bear do it because she knows he likes to. Baby Bear defers to her, and they start arguing over who will let the other one say it. Susan thinks someone better do it, so she goes ahead with it. Baby Bear and Goldilocks begin arguing over which one wasted the opportunity to announce the sponsors since now it's too late. Oscar immediately phones Sally, hoping to get another spot on her show. Amidst the arguing, Susan comments, "Peace and love."
