Description
SCENE 1Luis welcomes the viewer from his apartment in 123 Sesame Street. Gabi has invited Big Bird over to dinner, and the two play a very silly game where Maria pretends to be the animal of their choice while Luis sets the table. In the midst of pretending she's a cow driving a car, Maria suddenly yelps in pain. Big Bird assumes it's part of the game, but they learn that Maria is experiencing some pains in her stomach. Luis calls the doctor while Maria tries to comfort a concerned Gabi.

SCENE 2
Luis is on hold with the doctor while Big Bird wonders how they will diagnose what she has over the telephone; Luis explains that he can ask Maria questions that the doctor tells him. Luis describes Maria's symptoms, and the doctor advises she should come to the hospital immediately. Big Bird observes, "Gosh, one minute you're pretending to be a cow driving a car, the next minute you're on your way to the hospital!"

The group arrives at the hospital and Luis begins checking Maria in. Big Bird tries to explain how it happened (describing her cow routine) when Luis suggests he and Gabi sit aside while the grown-ups talk.

He recalls his time in the hospital (showing footage from Sesame Street Home Video Visits the Hospital) and how the doctors took good care of him. Luis comes by to report Maria's starting her examination, and is sure she'll be fine.

SCENE 4
Big Bird breaks down in tears, thinking his idea of having Maria pretend to be a cow driving a car is what made her sick. Luis reaffirms that his cow routine has nothing to do with Maria's ailment, and that nobody is at fault. Dr. Coleburn (Noah Wyle) reports to the family and states Maria is fine, but they wish to continue tests to figure out what made her feel ill; Big Bird proudly claims that he knows it wasn't his cow impression!

Dr. Coleburn tells Luis that Maria has a possible stomach virus and wishes to keep her overnight for examination. He also remembers Luis' connection to the Fix-It Shop (Luis had previously fixed his brother Aaron's toaster), and asks him to fix the hospital toaster.

Big Bird and Gabi find Maria, who's wheeled into the lobby. She's feeling better thanks to the hospital's medicine so Big Bird thinks they're ready to leave. Luis breaks the news to them that Maria will have to stay overnight, which doesn't please Gabi. She wonders where she will stay, so they all follow Dr. Coleburn as he brings them to Maria's room.

SCENE 6
The family and Big Bird check out Maria's room; Big Bird points out the many things he recognizes from his stay, including the buttons that move her bed and call for the nurse. Maria leaves some instructions for Gabi and Luis while she's gone when a nurse enters to remind them that visiting hours are over. Big Bird leaves Radar with Maria so she'll have some company overnight, and the family has a heartfelt goodbye for now.

As they head out, Luis tells Dr. Coleburn that the hospital toaster will have to spend the night in the Fix-It Shop until it "gets better." Once they leave, Dr. Coleburn announces the sponsors. The full season 28 credit sequence follows.
