Anchorfrog Kermit the Frog appears on Sesame Street News to announce the hurricane, cutting to meteorologist Al Roker posed in front of a weather map who shows how close the hurricane is getting to the coast. Telly and Elmo fret about the news, but the grown-ups and others detail ways in which they can prepare and start handing out supplies. |

SCENE 2 cont'd | Kermit interviews Luis, Maria, and Gabi about ways they are preparing for the hurricane - by putting tape on the windows of the Fix-It Shop to make them stronger and bringing anything that could be blown away inside. Afterwards, he interviews Alan and Baby Bear who are handing out boxes of supplies at Hooper's, then Elmo and Zoe about how they are helping put the produce into the store. (Zoe: "We don't want the hurricane to blow a tossed salad all over Sesame Street!") Kermit concludes his broadcast, nearly being blown down by the winds himself. |

SCENE 5 | As evening approaches, Telly observes the incoming storm from his apartment window with Freddy before his mommy calls him for dinner. Elsewhere indoors, Luis, Maria, and Gabi share fish sticks with a pair of penguins in 123 Sesame Street. Gina and Zoe converse with each other while munching on popcorn at Gina's apartment. At his place, Bob is frazzled by Oscar demanding more peanuts and mud cake for the elephants and pigs in his trash can, as well as some monsters, a Honker, a Dinger, a pig, and a chicken chunking a hurricane song out on Bob's piano. Meanwhile, Susan gives Big Bird a birdseed milkshake to comfort him as he continues to worry about his nest; Miles observes from the window that it's still okay. |

They then tell a story about the hurricane using the shadows; though it is pleasant indoors, outside is a completely different situation as Sesame Street is still being ravaged by the winds and heavy rain. |

- This episode was Kermit's last new appearance on Sesame Street until 2009 when he made a special cameo appearance in Elmo's World: Frogs.
- This and the next four episodes were edited together into the DVD release Friends to the Rescue. These episodes have also been rerun on PBS in 2004 (in the wake of that year's Atlantic hurricane season, where four hurricanes devastated Florida) and again in September 2005 after Hurricane Katrina ravaged the Gulf Coast.
- The street scenes from this episode were also released to SesameStreet's YouTube Channel on October 26, 2012; a few days before Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast.
- A hurricane previously hit the street in Episode 2821.
- Additional performers include Stephanie D'Abruzzo, Eric Jacobson, Alice Dinnean (as the sheep), Carmen Osbahr, Rick Lyon (as the chickens), John Tartaglia (as Kermit's right hand and penguin),[1] and Joey Mazzarino (as the purple monster), with David Rudman (penguin).
