Telly scoffs, but Elmo says that Dorothy is good at singing "The Alphabet Song," claiming she's doing so right now in her own silent way. SCENE 2 cont'd Since Gina is a veterinarian, Baby Bear goes to her clinic to ask her for advice. However, she is busy tending to the animal patients (including the duck from earlier, still laughing about his joke over the phone) and can't be with him right now. Old MacDonald and his animals are sitting in the waiting room, and in song MacDonald suggests a cow, a pig, and other animals. Baby Bear still can't decide, so MacDonald says he shouldn't have to - just get a whole bunch of pets!

SCENE 2 cont'd Baby Bear exits the clinic and comes across the Big Bad Wolf, who has his own suggestion for a pet: himself. Baby Bear wonders what kind of tricks he can perform, and Big Bad demonstrates by blowing him down ("Huffing and puffing - that's what I do!"). Baby Bear doesn't think it'll work, and the upset wolf blows him away over to...

SCENE 2 cont'd ... Gordon reading his newspaper on the stoop. Baby Bear explains his difficulties when Papa Bear arrives with a surprise: a small parrot he found in the woods. He doesn't seem to belong to anybody and thought it might make for a good pet; Baby Bear is further intrigued when he learns that some parrots can talk. When the bird remains silent, Baby Bear isn't fazed and says he loves him anyway. To their surprise, the parrot begins to mimic Baby Bear's words, even with the same speech impediment! Baby Bear names his new pet Ralph and starts conversing with him.
