Pennsylvania is the second state of the United States of America.

• In The Muppets Take Manhattan, The Electric Mayhem get a gig playing polka just outside of Pittsburgh, PA.

• Sesame Place, the official Sesame Street amusement park, is located in Langhorne, PA.

• In The Muppet Show episode 108, guest star Paul Williams appears in a sketch playing a travel agent. Beautiful Day Monster is his customer, trying to buy a ticket to Pittsburgh. No matter what Williams suggests, the monster's reply is, "Got anything cheaper?" Finally, Williams crushes the monster flat, and sends him air mail.

• Muppet performer Bill Barretta is from Yardley, PA; Fran Brill hails from Chester, PA; Ryan Dillon was born and raised in Philadelphia; and Stephanie D'Abruzzo is from Pittsburgh.

• Sesame Street’s American Revolution showed a recreation of the Second Continental Congress in Philadelphia, PA. Muppets Tonight's Great Moments in Elvis History also showed an Elvis recreation of the founding fathers' events in Philadelphia, PA.

• The Second Continental Congress was also depicted by the Muppets in the 1982 special I Love Liberty.

• In March 2007, Philadelphia temporarily renamed Broad Street to Sesame Street, in honor of the Sesame Street Live show Super Grover! Ready for Action. Super Grover and Elmo were on hand for the renaming ceremony. The renaming lasted for the two-week run of the show.^[1]

• In the book The Muppets Make Puppets!, the rod puppet Dolly Carton (modeled after Dolly Parton) has her birthplace listed as Pittsburgh.

• In a 1999 magazine advertisement, Kermit the Frog appears dressed as Pennsylvania's Commonwealth statue to promote the U.S. Mint's issuance of commemorative state quarters.

• In 2009, Fran Brill and Zoe were guest stars of CBS News Philadelphia a CBS owned and operated station in Philadelphia promoting Jim Henson's Fantastic World in Doylestown, Pennsylvania and the 40th anniversary of Sesame Street.

• In the Sesame Street coloring book Let's Take a Trip!, Bert and Ernie make a visit to Philadelphia, where Super Grover crashes into The Liberty Bell.

• The Dark Crystal character urSol the Chanter is on permanent display at the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh.

• During the Sesame Street Road Trip, a stop was made in Pittsburgh, where Elmo was photographed at the Children's Museum alongside one of Fred Rogers' iconic sweaters. Other stops included the Carnegie Science Center where Elmo was photographed next to C-3PO and R2-D2 and the Andy Warhol Museum where Big Bird posed under a portrait of the artist. A segment for Big Bird's Road Trip was also filmed during this stop (First: Episode 5003).
