"Wuntafordy" is a Sesame Street doo-wop song performed by The Lemmings, who also supplied vocals for "Get Along." The song counts to 40 as lemmings dance and jump off a cliff. James Earl Jones contributed the spoken voice for "30."^[1]

The segment was originally to have featured clay animation depicting rotating multicolored numbers. David Daniels created the piece using his "strata-cut" animation process in which the end of a long loaf of clay is cut frame by frame to create the resulting visual.^[2] This original version was made during production of season 20, but the vibrant graphics and patterns were deemed "counter-educational" and went unused.^[1] Michael Sporn produced the animation for the aired segment,^[3] which was initially presented without additional sound effects that were added in subsequent appearances.
