The Bleed is an interdimensional plane of existence that exists between the realities of the Orrery of Worlds. It exists across the Divine Continuum and is also connected to alternate dimensions of its multiverses, like the Multiversal Nexus and the Nanoverse.
History
The Bleed is the crimson interdimensional medium that separates and insulates the parallel universes of the Orrery of Worlds. It is both a physical and metaphysical barrier, preventing uncontrolled dimensional collapse while serving as the primary transit corridor for those capable of breaching reality’s walls. The Bleed is suffused with the raw life‑essence of all universes - a substance upon which the Monitors of Nil feed to sustain their eternal watch.
It has been stated that a single drop of The Bleed is capable of healing or annihilation, and it is only capable of being touched, held, bottled, and consumed by the Monitors.[1]

Notes
- In the Pre-Crisis Multiverse and the early version of the Pre-Flashpoint Multiverse, the space between dimensions was the so-called Limbo. The Interdimensional Limbo has appeared several times throughout the Silver Age and early Modern Age, making its first appearance in Justice League of America #21.
- The concept of "The Bleed" (and its red coloring) was originally created for the Wildstorm Multiverse in The Authority #1. Following the merger of Wildstorm into the 52 Multiverse as "Earth-50", the Bleed was also merged into the DC Multiverse.
- During the events of Final Crisis, Grant Morrison reframed the Bleed not just as a “space between worlds” but as a living, consumable substance tied directly to the biology and sustenance of the Monitors.
- After the Flashpoint, the term is more clearly defined as the space between the multiversal worlds– also encompassing the House of Heroes and, originally, the Rock of Eternity–, being separated from the Sphere of the Gods by the Speed Force Wall.
- In the Arrowverse Multiverse, Natalie Irons was able to escape her Earth's destruction during the Crisis by falling into the Bleed; she was stuck there until she crashed on Superman's Earth.[5]
Trivia
- The Bleed possibly exists beyond the Divine Continuum, into other multiverses of the Omniverse, including the Marvel Multiverse, where a plane of existence, commonly referred to as the Superflow but also occasionally called Bleed, is almost completely similar to the DC's Bleed.
